PROFESSIONAL WOMEN IN BUILDING of the Garden State Update

Y ou may not be aware, but the Professional Women in Building of the Garden State has been busy continuing their legacy of helping a variety of community organizations and coordinating much-needed donation drives during the past several months. One of our more recent initiatives was to collect non- perishable food during the Economic Forecast meeting in March. We are proud to share that thanks to our members' generosity for our food collection at the Economic Forecast meeting, we were able to donate 145 pounds of food to Peoples Pantry in Toms River. Thank you to all who donated and to Chris Cowan, Gina McNamara, Dillon Swol, and Kristin Marzarella who delivered the food after the event. Many of our members have already participated in Fireside Chat mentoring sessions with the Collier Youth Group Home in Red Bank over the past few years. We are happy to announce that these sessions will be starting again this Spring and many of our PWBGS members are excited to get back to working with this amazing organization to help the residents learn about achievement for women in building and career opportunities within the building industry. As a matter of fact, our council will be among the honorees at\y Collier Youth Services June Gala Event. As we learn more details, we will share this exciting event for sponsorships

and registration. Congratulations to all our members on this achievement.

It has been our mission to provide help where needed, and currently we are answering the call for Collier’s Kateri Day Camp with a donation drive to collect new or gently used books, bathing suits, and sneakers to help their campers get ready for summer at Kateri. Please helps us provide their campers with the gear they need to have a terrific summer. Contact Gina@shorebuilders.org for details on where/ how to donate. The next meeting of the PWBGS will be held on May 3rd at the Shore Builders Association of Central New Jersey. All PWBGS members are urged to attend, as this meeting will be important to discuss the council’s initiatives for the rest of 2022 and into 2023. If you are not a member of PWBGS, but are thinking about joining, please contact the office 732-364-2828 for membership information.
