a gift of love As indicated on our website, there are numerous charges that are heard in the Municipal Courts in the State of New Jersey. These range from low level motor vehicle violations such as going through a stop sign, careless driving, failure to maintain your lane and other charges that generally carry very low fines and two or less motor vehicle points. If you have been charged with any motor vehicle violation that carries more than two motor vehicle points upon a conviction, we suggest that you obtain the advice of counsel before going to court. The purpose of this article is to provide the reader with some information as to whether or not they need legal representation in Municipal Court on a low-level motor vehicle violation that carries two or less motor vehicle points. As most citizens of New Jersey know, municipal prosecutors will, generally, as a matter of course offer a “no point” or “zero point” violation as part of a plea bargain if you are charged with one of these low-level motor vehicle violations. The monetary cost of these “no point” or “zero point” violations are rather excessive in that you are required to pay a $250.00 surcharge for this “privilege.” The statute which provides this “no point” plea is called the unsafe driving statute. The basic theory in accepting a “no point” or “zero point” plea bargain is to potentially avoid motor vehicle points on your license in order to keep your auto insurance premiums lower and, potentially, to avoid the suspension of your driving privileges where you are in danger of accumulating 12 motor vehicle points which will result in a temporary suspension of driving privileges. However, it should be pointed out that there are a number of situations in which your acceptance of such a “no point” or “zero point” plea bargain may adversely affect your rights without your knowledge. One such situation is where you have already previously pled guilty to unsafe driving on more than one occasion. Your third guilty plea to unsafe driving within a certain period of time will subject you to four motor vehicle points when you may be under the mistaken belief that you will not be receiving any motor vehicle points. Another such situation where resurrection cemetery featuring mausoleum of the holy spirit Hoes Lane and Park Ave, Piscataway, NJ 08854 • Premier glass niches available for cremated remains • pre construction pricing available Hoes Lane and Park Ave, Piscataway, NJ 08854 • Premier glass niches available for cremated remains • pre construction pricing available wsiworld.com/bhavesh-desai (609) 286.7000 b.desai@wsiworld.com wsiworld.com/bhavesh-desai b.desai@wsiworld.com wsiworld.com/bhavesh-desai (609) 286.7000 b.desai@wsiworld.com wsiworld.com/bhavesh-desai (609) 286.7000 b.desai@wsiworld.com Your Trusted Partner For Digital Marketing Brian Desai #Local SEO Your Trusted Partner For Digital Marketing Brian Desai #Local SEO #Google Ads Your Trusted Partner For Digital Marketing Brian Desai #Local SEO #Google Ads Your Trusted Partner For Digital Marketing Brian Desai #Local SEO #Online Reputation #Google Ads #Customer Engagement #FaceBook Ads #Website Production Pickup Special #Online Reputation #Customer Engagement #Website Production #Brand Awareness #Customer Engagement #Website Production #Brand Awareness #Brand Awareness #Google Ads #FaceBook Ads #Get More Leads #FaceBook Ads #Get More Leads #Online Reputation

I Remember Dad: THE RED BARN, PART II By Richard Mabey Jr.

wsiworld. (609) 28 b.desai@ #FaceBook Ad #Get More Le It was just about the era that the Lin coln Park Herald had moved its office from Lincoln Park to Pompton Plains and renamed itself The Lincoln Herald. It was a good, quality weekly newspa per. But it had now become a regional weekly newspaper for a fair number of towns, surrounding Lincoln Park. No longer was its focused just on the peo ple and events of Lincoln Park. It was somewhere in between the hammering, the sawing, and measuring Your Tru BrianD I was 29 years old at the time. I was working as a proofreader and editor, of the patient educational literature, for a large toothbrush manufacturer. I felt as though my wheels were turning in the sand. I had this little office in the back of the building. Truth to be told, it had served as a broom closet. My boss was very kind and allowed me to set it us as a converted office. I was out of the mainstream of the rest of the people. My little office was just across from the mail-room. Proof reading is tedious, detailed and an in credibly boring job. Still, it was a job. But I was just feeling restless, I longed to write more and proofread less. #Local SEO #Google Ads In early June of 1983, for one week of our lives, Dad, Uncle Ed and I woke up early and worked till the sun set. For we had built a little barn. A most proud and wonderful accomplishment. Dad and I had taken a week’s vacation time, from our jobs. Uncle Ed had recently retired. His plan was to move to Neva da, with his wonderful wife, Joy, in the beginning of July.

“Look, son, I think you should start your own newspaper!” Dad said to me in a most serious, no-nonsense tone. “Dad, I don’t think I could ever do that,” I said to me beloved father. “Don’t sell yourself short, son,” Dad re plied. “I don’t know Dad, I don’t know if I’m that good of a writer,” I nervously replied to my father. “Yes you are son! Don’t sell yourself short,” Dad told me with great, earnest conviction. That afternoon, Dad spoke words of encouragement to me. Now at 70, I look back at that very afternoon, and I think that my dear father’s words of his deep belief in me, was a pivotal point in my life. Shortly thereafter, I did leave the tooth brush company to start my own news paper, The Lincoln Park Journal. It was probably one of the most exciting roller coaster rides that I have ever taken in my life. There were times that the financial struggle brought me to tears. There were times when I felt I was doing something very important for the good people of Lincoln Park. But all in all, I learned all so very much. I never thanked Dad for his words of encouragement that he gave to me that Summer afternoon, back in 1983. Now at 70, and fighting Stage IV Hypertro phic Cardiomyopathy, I so deeply regret that I never thanked Dad for his im mense belief in my God given talent to be a writer.

length of two by fours, that I was sharing my feelings with my dad. I distinct ly remember that it was just Dad and I working on the barn that day. Uncle Ed had gone to his doctor, to pick up his medical records, for his upcoming move to Nevada. I remember this moment, as if it was yesterday. It is engraved in the cham bers of my heart and mind with indelible ink. Dad was sawing a two by four, that was traversed across two old wooden saw horses. Dad stopped sawing, as I was hammering a sheet of plywood into place, Dad looked me square in the eye and said to me, “listen to me, Richie.” I stopped hammering the plywood, along the barn’s sidewall in progress.

In memory, I return to the week that Dad, Uncle Ed and I built a little barn. Truly, it was a turning point in my life. Dad’s encouragement is a debt I can only recognize, but sadly never repay. Life is short. None of us have a guarantee for tomorrow. Love one another. Forgive, forgive and forgive others for the wrongs they have done to you. Tell your loved ones that you love them. For tomorrow may be too late. Richard Mabey Jr. is a freelance writer. He hosts a YouTube Channel titled, “Richard Mabey Presents.” Richard most recently published a book of poetry and short stories. If there is anything (concerns, changes, questions about the IEP) that you feel is important to share with the staff working with your child before school starts, or during the year, don't hesitate to contact them! Coriander The herb can be helpful for some people with irritable bowel syndrome, as it calms intestinal spasms that can lead to diarrhea. Preliminary studies in animals support another traditional use for coriander—as an anti-anxiety herb. Its essential oil appears to fight bacteria, including E. coli and salmonella. It's also being studied for its potential cholesterol-reducing benefits and has been shown to lower cholesterol in animals. 5. Keep everyone informed: It's important that you and the school communicate early and often! If there is anything (concerns, changes, questions about the IEP) that you feel is important to share with the staff working with your child before school starts, or during the year, don't hesitate to contact them! The more protective and honest you are, the better the school staff will be able to meet your child's needs. 6. Establish before and after school routine: Discuss and plan the changes in you and your child’s daily routine that will happen once school starts. You can even begin practicing your new schedule, focusing on morning and evening routines, and begin implementing them well in advance of the first day of school. 7. Stay up-to-date on special education news: Being knowledgeable about your child’s IEP and their disability can help you become a better advocate for your child. Try to keep up-to-date on new special education legislation, news, and events. The more you know, the more prepared you will be to navigate the world of special education and successfully advocate for your child! 8. Attend school events: Take advantage of Open House, Back-to-School Night, and parent-teacher conferences to help you and your child get a feel for the school and meet the teachers, other staff, students, and families. Share the positives about working with your child, and let the teacher know about changes, events, or IEP concerns that should be considered for children in special education. You just got out of the “naughty child” stage only to enter the “tween stage”. Even if you don't want to believe it you know exactly what the tween stage consist of. Th e usual, I am an adult now, let me do what I want, I don't need your help kind of attitude. Dealing with a child ages 11-13 can be di

some things you can do to help. Build a Support Network

With Pick Up and Delivery Being a tween is hard. It is awkward, everything is changing and you self con fi dence is at an all time low. Building a support network can help your child a lot. Surrounding them with love, trust and support will help raise their self con fi dence and make life a little less awkward. Point Out Be sure that your kid knows that you are proud of them. Pointing out their good actions will result in them wanting to feel resulting in them doing more good things. Be sure to also give them criticism as well as compliments. You do not want your child to believe they can get away with anything as long as they do one good deed. Self-con Service Your Ford Vehicle Goes to the Dealer. You don’t. Ask the, questions while being informed on their life, but all to a certain extent. Give them privacy and allow them to grow on their own as well. You can not smoother them, but you must be aware of their actions and well being in order to guide them the right way. Do Not Lash Out Arguments are inevitable. worst thing you can do is scream back and make the problem worse. Obviously, all children require reprimanding, but try hard not to cause a huge blow out. Before screaming back take some time and cool down. Make sure both of you are calm enough to speak without getting excited, and then return to the conversation ready to too much of something is never a good thing. Being Involved Being involved in a tweens life can be a di and demand privacy and independency.

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS Does Majoring in STEM Lead to a STEM Job After Graduation? STEM Majors Earned More Than Other STEM Workers By, Jennifer Cheeseman Day and Anthony Martinez Majoring in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) does not guarantee a job in a STEM occupation but it typically means a bump in pay. Among the 50 million employed college graduates ages 25 to 64 in 2019, 37% reported a bachelor’s degree in science or engineering but only 14% worked in a STEM occupation, according to the Census Bureau’s most recent 2019 American Community Survey 1-year estimates. This translates into less than a third (28%) of STEM-educated workers actually working in a STEM job. STEM workers who majored in a STEM field in college typically made higher salaries than those who did not: on average, $101,100 vs. $87,600. STEM jobs include computer occupations, mathematicians and statisticians, engineers, life scientists, and physical and social scientists. About half of the STEM jobs were in computer occupations and an other 29% in engineering in 2019. STEM workers who majored in a STEM field in college typically made higher salaries than those who did not: on average, $101,100 vs. $87,600. The vast majority (62%) of college-educated workers who majored in a STEM field were employed in non-STEM fields such as non-STEM management, law, education, social work, accounting or counseling. In addition, 10% of STEM college graduates worked in STEM-related occupations such as health care. The path to STEM jobs for non-STEM majors was narrow. Only a few STEM-related majors (7%) and non-STEM majors (6%) ultimately ended up in STEM occupations. About half of workers who majored in engineering (52%) or computer, mathematics, and statistics majors (51%) worked in STEM. The difference between those who majored in engineering and computer, mathematics, and statistics majors was not statistically significant. That means that about as many people with a computer or engineering background were just as likely to be employed in non-STEM occupations. Some may have worked in STEM initially but transitioned later to a non-STEM occupation such as management. Workers who studied other types of STEM majors found employment in STEM occupations at much lower rates. Just over a quarter of physical science majors (28%), for example, were employed in STEM. The per centages were even lower for STEM majors in biology, environmental, and agricultural science (16%), psychology (10%) and social science (9%). In addition, STEM jobs attracted more workers with advanced degrees. About 40% of college-educated STEM workers had a graduate degree. Majoring in STEM Pays Off There was an earnings boost for STEM majors in all STEM occupation groups, except for life scientists such as biologists and agricultural and food scientists. Highest and lowest earners: • STEM-educated workers in computer occupations had the highest median annual earnings among STEM occupations at $105,300. • Engineers were a close second, earning a median $102,200 a year. • Life scientists earned the least, at $66,540 a year. Jennifer Cheeseman Day is a demographer in the Census Bureau’s Communication Directorate. Anthony Martinez is a survey statistician in the Social, Economic and Housing Statistics Division. QUESTION: What is Optomap retinal imaging?

ANSWER:

The optomap ultra-widefield retinal image is a unique technology that captures more than 80% of your retina in one panoramic image while traditional imaging methods typically only show 15% of your retina at one time. Your retina (located in the back of your eye) is the only place in the body where blood vessels can be seen directly. This means that in addition to eye conditions, signs of other diseases (for example, stroke, heart disease, hypertension and diabetes) can also be seen in the retina. Early detection of life-threatening diseases like cancer, stroke, and cardiovascular disease. It also facilitates early protection from vision impairment or blindness. Early signs of these conditions can show on your retina long before you notice any changes to your vision or feel pain. While eye exams include a look at the front of the eye to evaluate health and prescription changes, a thorough screening of the

free. It is suitable for every age, even children. The capture takes less than a second. Images are available immediately and you can see your own retina and exactly what your eye care practitioner sees in a 3D animation. Most importantly, early detection means successful treatments can be administered and reduces the risk to your sight and health.

CHILD, ADOLESCENT & ADULT PSYCHIATRIST

Famous for her lifestyle brand, Martha Stewart, a businesswoman born in Jersey City and grew up in Nutley, New Jersey, has spent her life building a large enterprise of cookbooks, interior design magazines, and television shows. She wasn’t always in this field, howev er. She was a stockbroker for a firm called Monness, Williams, and Sidel on Wall Street for five years until she and her family moved to Westport, Connecticut in 1972. There, she opened a catering business that quickly grew in size and popularity as it focused on gourmet cooking and unique presentation. Bolstered by the attention, Stewart pub lished her first book Entertaining, followed by cookbooks like Martha Stewart’s Quick Cook Menus. Despite getting a divorce the year before, Stewart released her magazine Martha Stew art Living in 1991, effectively creating the conglomerate Martha Stewart Living Omni media, Inc.. By the late 1990s, she had got

ten her own cable and radio show and more than $700 million in annual retail sales. The company went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 1999, which result ed in Stewart becoming a billionaire. Now, she is worth around $400 million. Stewart hit a snag when she was put un der investigation for insider trading in 2002. In the following year, she was charged with securities fraud, obstruction of justice, and conspiracy. Despite pleading innocent, she stepped down as CEO of her company, and in 2004, was sentenced to five months in prison. After she was released from jail, Stewart hosted a spin-off reality show that never truly kicked off and a new NBC talk show that aired from 2005 to 2012. BENEFITS OF SCHOOL SPORTS Joining an athletic team is a great way for student-athletes to build relationships with others and confi dence in themselves. From football and basketball to volleyball and golf, there is a sport for every season depending on the size and location of your child’s school. Parents play a key role in encouraging their children to join an athletic team without being overly pushy. If your child shows an interest in a sport, there are various things you can do to make sure it is an enjoyable experience. Set Realistic Expectations Sports aren’t solely about game day. There is extensive work required during practices and camps that may not be on your child’s radar just yet. Before signing your child up to play a competitive sport in middle school or high school, be sure he or she understand the commitment that will go into being a member of the team. Encourage your child to talk with the team’s coach to get an idea of the amount of time associated with the schedule. Check this time requirement against other activities — both school and family-relat ed — in which your child is currently involved. This kind of research can be a big help in making your decision as a family. Potential Benefits Playing sports is not only fun but can have a big impact on your child’s fitness levels. According to a re port from the National Federation of State High School Associations, a study found girls had a healthier weight and body mass when they were given more opportunities to participate in high school athletics. Studies also suggest that student- athletes are less likely to participate risky behavior when they are part of an athletic team. The more a child is engaged in something productive that requires both mental and physical commitment, the more likely they are to stick to healthy life decisions. Other potential benefits, according to research by national organizations, include higher grade point averages, better attendance, stronger social relationships and enhanced skills in leadership, time man agement, creativity and concentration.
