ST. GREGORY THE GREAT ACADEMY IN HAMILTON SQUARE, NJ, NAMED NATIONAL FINALIST IN HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS CONTEST – WINS $1,000 FROM JERSEY MIKE’S SUBS
St. Gregory the Great Acade my in Hamilton Square, N.J. has been selected as a 2024 nation al finalist in the 2 nd annual ele mentary school creativity contest sponsored by Jersey Mike’s Subs and the Harlem Globetrotters. Dubbed the “Court of Creativity presented by Jersey Mike’s Subs,” this competition inspires students and educators to display their in ventive talents through projects related to the Harlem Globetrot ters or basketball. As a top 10 selection by a panel of judges, the academy has been awarded a $1,000 donation from Jersey Mike’s Subs. One grand prize winner will receive a visit from the Harlem Globetrotters before the end of the 2023-24 school year. mation using over 700 photos, successfully winning money for their school. Their creative sessions were fueled by eating nearly a dozen subs from Jersey Mike’s. Students across the country submitted unique and entertaining entries ranging from basketball-themed math class to Globetrotters-inspired art and trick shot videos. The entries showcased the students’ teamwork, imag ination, and skill. Each entry demonstrated the power of collaboration, cre ativity, and sportsmanship. “Ingenuity and creativity add a layer of excitement to any activity, wheth er it’s a live Harlem Globetrotters game or a classroom activity,” said Rich Hope, the Chief Marketing Officer at Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, Inc. “The exceptional projects submitted from across the nation truly embody the spirit of the Globetrotters. Thanks to all of the schools who participated. We’re thrilled to make this an annual tradition.” The challenge was open to public, private, and vocational schools with grades Kindergarten through 5th across the United States. It was part of Jer sey Mike’s and the Harlem Globetrotters’ ongoing efforts to promote healthy lifestyles, teamwork, and creativity among young people.
