4TH ANNUAL HISTORIC ALLENTOWN 5K RUN TAKING PLACE ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2023 (Allentown, NJ) – The Allentown Recreation Commission is sponsoring its 4th annual Historic Allentown 5K on Saturday, September 30 at 9:00 AM. The race will take place at Allentown's Heritage Park, which is known for its gor geous scenery and its wealth of dirt trails which complement the paved oval trail inside the heart of the park. The entire race will take place inside the park and runners will be able to test their abilities on different terrains as they explore the ins and outs of one of the town's most notable landscapes. Registration to run is $30 and includes a t-shirt. 2023 will be the first year where there is also a one-lap “Fun Run” for recreational runners and children. Reg istration is $15 (does not include t-shirt) and the “Fun Run” commences at 8:30 AM. This event is being sponsored by the Allentown Recreation Commission. The Rec reation Commission is committed to improving recreational resources and activi ties in our community, along with acquiring property for recreational purposes, the maintenance of parkland and equipment, and improving current public playgrounds, recreation places and the approach to said lands. Race-day packets for the 5K, which include racing bib and t-shirt, can be picked up the morning of the race between at 8:00 am and 8:45 am at Heritage Park.
