Alcohol (ethanol) is a central nervous system depressant that works by inhibiting nerve activity in the brain and spinal cord, affecting every area of the body. When a person drinks alcohol, it’s ab sorbed into their bloodstream through the stom ach and small intestine, then circulated through their system. Consuming large amounts of alco hol can create an intense feeling of sedation and relaxation and affect functions like movement, coordination, and judgment. Like other CNS de pressants, alcohol is also addictive, and drinking large quantities frequently and for long periods can lead to serious consequences. Some common long-term effects of alcohol abuse include: INGREDIENTS 4 SERVINGS • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks • 2 tablespoons grounded ginger • 1/4 teaspoon grounded turmeric • 8 leaves fresh dandelion greens, well washed, trimmed and torn into 1-inch pieces • 2 cups pink grapefruit soda • Crushed ice
