Power and Communication can now be delivered across a single standard network. Light Fixtures, now known as an “Intelligent LED Hubs”, will produce controllable Light across the white spectrum and dimmable from 0 to 100. Ambient light sensors can also enable daylight harvesting and
adjust the LED lighting to maintain constant lighting when sunlight is absent. Each intelli- gent LED hub can collect valuable informa- tion on lighting, Energy usage, temperature, humidity, and anonymous room-occupancy data which it then communicates back to a controller.

PoE TECHNOLOGY
AN INTEGRATED SYSTEM
Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a technology for wired Ethernet local area networks (LANs) that allows the electrical current necessary for the operation of each device to be carried by the data cables rather than by power cords. Doing so minimizes the number of wires that must be strung in order to install the network. This allows a single cable to provide both data connection and electric power to devices such as wireless access points, IP cameras, VoIP phones, lighting fixtures. (1)
Examples of devices powered by PoE include:
- VoIP phones - IP cameras - Wireless access points
- IPTV decoders - Network routers - A mini network switch installed in distant rooms, to support a small cluster of ports from one uplink cable. - Mini-switches do not usually provide PoE on their output ports - Intercom, paging and public address systems and hallway speaker amplifiers - Wall clocks in rooms and hallways, with time set using Network Time Protocol - Outdoor roof mounted radios with integrated antennas, 802.11 or 802.16 based wireless CPEs - Industrial control system components including sensors, controllers, meters etc. - Access control components including help-points, intercoms, entry cards, keyless entry, etc. - Intelligent lighting controllers and LED Lighting fixtures - Stage and Theatrical devices, such as networked audio breakout and routing boxes - Remote point of sale kiosks - Inline Ethernet extenders

Time and cost savings - by reducing the time and expense of having electrical power cabling installed. Network cables do not require a qualified electrician to fit them, and can be located anywhere
Flexibility - without being tethered toanelectrical outlet, devices suchas IPcamerasandwireless accesspoints can be located wherever they are needed most, and repositioned easily if required
Safety - POEdelivery is intelligent, and designed to protect network equipment fromoverload, underpowering, or incorrect installation
Reliability - POE power comes from a central and universally compatible source, rather than a collection of distributed wall adapters. It can be backed-up by an uninterruptible power supply, or controlled to easily disable or reset devices
Scalability - having power available on the network means that installation and distribution of network connec- tions is simple and effective
Building Management and Control System - use of POE would ease the way to participate in utility demand response (DR) programsandenhanceenergyuseandmanagement inbuildingsof all types, from“smart” homes, residential and commercial buildings to smart university and corporate campuses (2)
Energy Savings- PoE offers an additional 15-18% energy savings above and beyond the traditional savings that LED light fixtures offer.

INTELLIGENT LED HUB
Powered by PoE, each LED light fixture can be a standard RJ-45 connector plug-and-play device with its own individually addressable IP address. Moreover, adding sensors to the LED fixture transforms it from a lighting-only fixture to an intelligent LED hub . With this configuration, each intelligent LED hub can collect information on ambient lighting, temperature, humidity, and anonymous room-occupancy data which it then communicates back to a controller. For example, occupancy sensing can ensure that lighting turns on when someone enters a room and turns off when the room is unoccupied. Ambient light sensors can also enable daylight harvesting and adjust the LED light- ing to maintain constant lighting when sunlight is absent.
PoE is ideally suited for powering, connecting, and controlling intelligent LED hubs with a LAN or a cloud based system.
In this way, the LED lighting system becomes part of the IT network; its reach extends beyond the immediate vicinity of the user and to other building services through any network-connected device (e.g., phone, tablet, PC). Thus, a user can utilize the system's proximity sensors to find the closest available meeting room.
An even greater benefit extends to facility owners and managers who now have an integrated view of a facility's energy usage.
By measuring, monitoring, and controlling all the nodes of the network (including heat and ventilation) in real time, management can identify opportunities for improved energy usage and operational efficiency.
Armed with this information, they can adjust temperature , lighting, and cleaning schedules based on historical user behavior data. (3)
Network-connected lighting and sensor hubs can deliver new functions anywhere lighting is used and turn lighting off when it is not needed.

DAYLIGHT HARVESTING Daylight Harvesting is the process of using daylight instead of artificial light to illuminate a space. This is accomplished through sensors and dimming technology. Instructed by Inspextor, the system gradually lowers the artificial light to allow daylight to be the main source, all the while maintaining balanced light levels throughout the space. This process will save money on your electric and lower your carbon footprint. WHITE TEMPERATURE TUNING TECHNOLOGY White Temperature Tuning Technology is the ability to change the Kelvin Temperature from a warm 2700K to a cool 6500K. Inspextor can do this seamlessly through the creation of scenes as per one’s specifications. The uses vary from behav- ioral control in schools, match matte finishes and support the human circadian system. The color of light can have quite an effect on people and mood. Using it in the correct manner can create the perfect work environment, increase productivity and manage behavior in ways that have never been done before.
PLUG AND PLAY INSTALLATION Plug-N-Play Technology is a term that has never been more correct than when applied to a Power Over Ethernet Installa- tion. You literally plug one end into the router and the other into the light fixture. Installing a new lighting system is now safer, easier and more affordable than it has ever been.
DEMAND RESPONSE Demand Response is a technology-enabled economic rationing system that pays companies to voluntarily lower their usage during a high Electricity Demand Event. One Example is during a heat wave when a Utility is trying to meet the demands of everyone. Utilities pay incentives to those who participate. Historically, companies would use people and switches to curb their usage. Today with INSPEXTOR™, all it takes is the touch of a button to dim the lights to the pre-set amount, and the sensors can relay information temperature to the main BMS which will allow it to adjust the AC accordingly.

PANDUIT ® - CABLING SYSTEM (Network Infrastructure Solution)
Panduit’s copper cabling solutions provide the infrastructure for networks of all shapes and sizes, with support for any type of Power over Ethernet (PoE, PoE+ or PoE++). A single Ethernet cable delivers both power and data to network connected devices, for the ultimate in efficient installation and man- agement. Heat rise from PoE is a non-issue with Panduit copper cables and connectors, which have been engineered to manage even the highest levels of PoE-induced heat without impacting cable performance. Beyond the cabling and connectivity, lighting installations also require a physical infrastruscture that varies based on the architecture being used. PoE switches can be located in a nearby telecommunications room, in the ceiling near the lights, or a hybrid of the two architectures can be used. Whichever architecture you are planning for your project, Panduit infrastruc- ture can support it.
