“A Very TAVI Christmas” TAVI Events Usher in Holiday Season The Allentown Village Initiative is welcoming the 2021 holiday season in a big way with four community-wide programs that are sure to get you in the spirit. Full details and registration info is at www.allentownvinj.org . Here’s how you can celebrate right here in Allentown: First, registration is now open for TAVI’s Holiday Wreath Decorating Contest. If you enjoy creating your own personalized holiday wreath, then register to display your creation at one of Allentown’s Main Street businesses. Wreaths can be hung as soon as Thanksgiving weekend, and will be up through the end of December. All are welcome to vote for their favorite; The wreath with the most votes will win a gift basket valued at $75, with $30 and $20 gift cards for runners-up. It's also time to sign up your home lights and decorations display for the 2nd Annual “Great Christmas Light Driving Tour.” If you’ll be decorating your house for the holidays, let us know! We’ll add your address to TAVI’s map of Allentown and Upper Freehold, which will be posted on December 1st and updated through Christmas. Next, load the family in the car, and start at the McCormicks’ drive through Christmas village and light display. Then follow the map for a driving tour showcasing our community’s Christmas spirit. It’s free family fun! Next up is the return of the “Trees & Treats” house tour on Sunday, December 12, 2021. Visit the inside of the McCormicks’ home in Upper Freehold to see a Christmas wonderland of over 200 decorated trees and thousands of lights (just about as many inside as out!). Tickets are $10, with all proceeds benefitting TAVI’s community service projects, and are available with timed entry at www.allentownvinj.org. Finally, do your part to help those in need by supporting TAVI’s “Operation Holiday Giving” to support the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. Assemble holiday care packages with the items listed on TAVI’s website (www.allentownvinj.org) then call (609) 208-9991 to arrange for a convenient pick up or drop off.
