Zanis Furry Friends is based out of NYC & Chesterfield, NJ. Zanis is a small grass roots rescue organization since 2005 & is a 501 c3 & we are almost 500 adoptions. We started off as dogs only & expanded to cats & we occasionally adopt out a bunny, bird, guinea pig or horse. We are foster based & have a facility where we board many of our dogs. We are partnered with Animal Care & Control of NYC, Associated Humane Society of NJ & work with international rescues in the Middle East & occasionally Asia. We also have adoption days in your area. Buzz is an outgoing fella with lots of energy for play. He came in to the rescue very shy and a bit wild. He has come light-years since then and now loves to cuddle. He is passionate about hair especially curly hair which he finds endlessly fascinating. He is very cuddly and playful and loves to sleep on the bed with you and cuddle. He loves other cats and is ambivalent about dogs. He is fixed, tested, chipped and has had all his shots. He just needs a loving home. Their home planet became uninhabitable when the emperor (landlord) found out they were living in their mom's home but the lease said no pets. The emperor started fining the family for every day the pets remained. They are now taking refuge safely in one of our foster homes. We think they are about 7-8 months old. Luke is a big boy. He is going to be a huge cat I think. Leia is more petite. Please help these kittens find their forever homes. You are their only hope. Houdina was found in the crawlspace under a home in point pleasant. She got her name because when her rescuer bought her to the rescue we popped her in a dog crate so she would be safe as we socialized her. She took one look at the bars, found her spot, squeezed through, and disappeared under the couch! We have since recaptured her and are working to socialize her. She is a little timid but super sweet and is warming up fast. Momma’s Boy - Mamma's boy and his siblings were rescued from a very shady area of Patterson. They were in bad shape but we have nursed them back to health and they are now sweet cuddly adorable babies.. Rascal and his siblings were rescued from a very shady area of Patterson. He gets on well with other cats. He hasn’t been around dogs but he is confident and inquisitive. We think he would be fine with a doggy sibling if properly introduced. Zigzag was rescued from the streets of Quatar. Her pet passport says she is 3 but that is clearly an error. We think she is more like 10-13 based on her teeth. She had 4 teeth extracted when we got her and has been super healthy ever since. She likes to be petted but is not a huge fan of being picked up. She is mellow around other animals as long as they respect her space, but she isn't particularly interested in making friends. She is fostered in a home with cats and dogs but not kids. Her ideal home would be quiet and one where she had lots of human company.
