We provide Adult Day Services For Special Needs Adults (21 years old +) Nutrition Responding to local interest, Rise offers bilingual nutrition classes. Domestic Violence Prevention. In collaboration withWomanspace, this service is available to all families in need. This collaboration provides access to a therapist on-site at Rise n Hightstown, as well as immediate access to emergency shelters. This service is provided in both English and Spanish. URise at PenFed In addition to meeting the basic physical needs of our cli- ents, Rise is looking to address our community’s mental health and well-being. Rise is pleased to announce our partnership with PenFed Credit Union, whose game-changing $100,000.00 investment will underwrite the creation of “URise Powered by PenFed: A Virtual Connection to Learning, Community and Care.” Rise Pantry. Every day, Rise helps neighbors to fill their cupboards and make ends meet. Rise maintains a year-round pantry of perishable and non-perishable food, as well as personal care items, baby supplies and pet food. The Rise Pantry is located at 133 Broad Street in Hightstown. Hours are Mon.-Wed. 9 am-12 pm; and the first and third Wednesdays of every month from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm. Rise to the TASK Community Dinners. In collaboration with the First United Methodist Church of Hightstown, the First Presbyterian Church of Hightstown, St. James A.M.E. Church of Hightstown, Muslims Against Hunger and the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK), Rise offers hot meals three eve- nings each week. All meals are provided free of charge on an unconditional, no- questions-asked basis. Hours are Monday 4:00-5:30 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Hightstown, 320 North Main Street; Wednesday 5:00-6:00 pm at St. James A.M.E. Church, 413 Summit Street; Thursday 4:30-6:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Hightstown, 187 Stockton Street. Community Garden. Rise procures garden spaces in the East Windsor Community Garden and Rocky Brook Park for low-income families to foster healthy eating habits, outdoor recreational exercise and self-reliance. At peak season, garden abundance is donated back to the Rise Pantry, benefiting the community at large. Em rgency Assist nce. Rise provides help to procure funding for short- term emergency shelter, utility payment, rental assistance, arbitration and medi- cation assistance to families and individuals in need. English Language Learners (ELLs) ELLs welcomes students at all skill levels. The 10-12-week program is taught by experienced instructors and volun- teers who work with students to build confidence in reading and writing English. Rise Thrift Store. Located at 114 Rogers Avenue in Hightstown, this social enterprise provi es clothing and housewares at l w cost to the community. The store also features vintage and unique finds. The store is open for shopping and donations Monday through Saturday 10am-7pm and Sunday 10am-4pm. Rise has four locations in Hightstown and pays rent for them all. It staffs its stores and f od pantry with salaried employees and volunteers. The Rise ad- ministrative offices are staffed by five Case Managers, a Community Coordina- tor, Director of Developm nt and Execut ve Director. M . Koppel works hard to make Rise as self-sustaining as possible but Rise can only get by with help from its friends. Your donations can go a long way! “We rely on funding to continue our programming – whether through grants, pledges, individual donations, corporate giving, foundations, Mercer County CSBG monies, income from the Rise Thrift Store or contributions from local governments,” Ms. Koppel reports. “The communities of Hightstown and East Windsor contribute to Rise’s outreach efforts, but we need your help!” Take part in the community that keeps Rise programs running by sending a donation to: Rise P.O.
