M

onday through Friday each and every one of us hits the ground running. Rising and shining, guzzling our coffee, to get to the office on time to start our workday. No matter what your morning routine includes, one thing we all have in common is our daily To-Do List, whether it’s written or mental. Once you get to the office, it always seems like what you thought you were going to accomplish turns into something completely different! That happens often at the Shore Builders office, you never really know what the day will bring. and necessary supporting documentation. During the meeting, we create a checklist of items that we will need to coordinate or follow up on. These items all get added to that “To-Do” list mentioned earlier. With eight active committees and at least one event each month, organization is key! Speaking of events, coordinating those is always a big part of our day. Whether it is a large, year-long planned event like the Golf Outing or the FAME awards, or a quickly planned, informal networking event like the Young Professionals enjoy, there are still many details that need attention. Calls to venues, member registration, making sure all the necessary supplies are purchased and on-hand, the list goes on. Depending on the schedule, there may be a committee meeting that will need an agenda

The days leading up to an event, especially the day of, are hectic however we do everything we can to ensure the program is executed as flawlessly as possible. There are always last-minute details, member requests, and issues that need to be followed up on. Fielding requests and phone calls from our officers, board, members, vendors, and community organization partners are a part of our day, every day. Sometimes it isn’t easy to accommodate all of these requests; however, we strive to do everything we can to make sure our association members and partners are a priority. Chris and I enjoy hearing from you, we are here to answer any questions you have and to help you make the most of your membership experience. Working for a trade organization we face the same challenges as our members! We all wear many hats and often change them several times in the course of the day. Just a typical day… that reminds us how much we love our jobs!
