a gift of love how do i pre-plan? A Catholic Cemetery Memorial Counselor will explain and guide you through the pre-planning process. They are someone you can trust and who will explain the options that are available for you. You will not be pressured into making any unnecessary purchases. Ingredients like sucanat, fructose, corn syrup, molasses and dextrose are all forms of sugar that should be noted when examining nutrition labels and ingredients lists. (609) 443-5330 (609) 443-5331 For Digital Marketing As most citizens of New Jersey know, municipal prosecutors will, generally, as a matter of course offer a “no point” or “zero point” violation as part of a plea bargain if you are charged with one of these low-level motor vehicle violations. The monetary cost of these “no point” or “zero point” violations are rather excessive in that you are required to pay a $250.00 surcharge for this “privilege.” The statute which provides this “no point” plea is called the unsafe driving statute. The basic theory in accepting a “no point” or “zero point” plea bargain is to potentially avoid motor vehicle points on your license in order to keep your auto insurance premiums lower and, potentially, to avoid the suspension of your driving privileges where you are in danger of accumulating 12 motor vehicle points which will result in a temporary suspension of driving privileges. However, it should be pointed out that there are a number of situations in which your acceptance of such a “no point” or “zero point” plea bargain may adversely affect your rights without your knowledge. One such situation is where you have already previously pled guilty to unsafe driving on more than one occasion. Your third guilty plea to unsafe driving within a certain period of time will subject you to four motor vehicle points when you may be under the mistaken belief that you will not be receiving any motor vehicle points. Another such situation where you potentially will need legal representation is where the low-level motor vehicle violation is the result of a motor vehicle accident. The bottom line is that, regardless of what type of motor vehicle violation you are charged with, you should seek the advice of an attorney before appearing in Municipal Court by yourself and entering into a plea bargain which may subject you to other legal ramifications of which you were not aware. Typically, when we receive a call for a motor vehicle violation, we initially attempt to obtain as much information as possible from the potential client to determine whether or not they will require legal representation given their individual circumstances. Accordingly, please feel free to contact us to discuss your individual situation to determine whether or not legal representation is required. HIDDEN SUGAR Most people have a sweet tooth or a favorite des sert they cannot resist. While these treats are obvi ous diet offenders and sugar gold mines, there are many other foods that contribute more than their share of sugar to the daily diet. Here’s a look at four ways sugar can sneak into your diet without you noticing. Drinks Certain beverages are loaded with sugar, but many people do not consider these sources when analyzing their eating habits. Coffee and other morning drinks are usually con sumed with at least a couple of added teaspoons of sugar, and some people drink several cups per day. Sodas are also a guilty suspect because they can contain just as much sugar as a slice of pie. For a healthier alternative, try switching to wa ter sweetened with lemon juice. Yogurt Yogurt is often thought of as a health food. While it does provide calcium and essential probiotics, flavored yogurt is also laden with sugar. To get the health benefits without a high sugar content, try eating plain yogurt sweetened with fresh or frozen fruit instead. Don’t Assume In an effort to refine your diet, you may switch to “healthier” treats such as oatmeal raisin cookies or chocolate energy bars. However, just because they may be labeled as health foods does not mean that their sugar content is at a healthy level. Many times, these foods may contain just as much or even more sugar compared to other treats. Always be sure to check the label for sugar content. Watch Out for the Alias While you are checking labels, be on the look out for a sugar alias. Sugar is manufactured during different points of the refining process, and the food industry is able to change sugar into many different forms as well. 659 Abbington Dr., #403 East Windsor, NJ 08520 (Twin Rivers Shopping Mall, Rt 33) #Local SEO #Online Reputation #Google Ads #Customer Engagement #FaceBook Ads #Website Production #Get More Leads #Brand Awareness • General Civil Litigation • Employment Law • Residential and Commercial Real Estate Transactions JOHN T. BY JOHN BAZZURRO As indicated on our website, there are numerous charges that are heard in the Municipal Courts in the State of New Jersey. These range from low level motor vehicle violations such as going through a stop sign, careless driving, failure to maintain your lane and other charges that generally carry very low fines and two or less motor vehicle points. If you have been charged with any motor vehicle violation that carries more than two motor vehicle points upon a conviction, we suggest that you obtain the advice of counsel before going to court. The purpose of this article is to provide the reader with some information as to whether or not they need legal representation in Municipal Court on a low-level motor vehicle violation that carries two or less motor vehicle points. why choose a catholic cemetery? I was not going to let Mr. Taylor de feat me. That night, after being told that I failed the Swimming Merit Badge classes for the second time, I prayed and prayed and prayed for God to help me earn this most coveted merit badge. The long and short of it was that the Swimming Merit Badge was one of the required merit badges to earn the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. So, in mid-August, I began taking the Swim ming Merit Badge classes for a third time. It was during these classes that Mr. Taylor’s anger to ward me took on an even greater height. It was in early September, when I turned 16 and began my junior year at Boonton High School, that my third attempt at passing the Swimming Merit Badge classes concluded. Once again Mr. Taylor failed me. But it wasn’t enough that Mr. Taylor failed me for the third time. With anger in his voice, he told me that I was wasting his time, taking the Swim ming Merit Badge classes. Mr. Taylor’s last words to me, as I walked away from the big riverside dock to the driveway, where my mom was wait ing for me in her car, were these words. “Maybe, you’ll never make it to Eagle Scout!” As the tears flowed down my cheeks, I got into Mom’s car. Mom asked me what happened. I sim ply replied to my dear mother, “I failed again.” To be continued. Richard Mabey Jr. is a freelance writer. He has had two books published. of 15, I had just completed my sophomore year at Boonton High School. I began taking classes for the Swimming Merit Badge. I had had Rheumat ic Fever when I was 12, and up till that time my Cardiologist, Dr. Martin Rosenthal, felt strong ly that my heart was not yet strong enough for the strenuous challenge of the Swimming Merit Badge classes. The classes were held at a docking station of the Rockaway River in Boonton Township. The beach area was owned by a Scout Commissioner, who loaned out the use of his large dock for the scouts to have an aquatic center. It was known as the Boonton District Aquatic Merit Badge Cen ter. I was not as strong and coordinated as the oth er boys were. My Swimming Merit Badge Coun selor, Mr. Taylor, was quite a tough man. He was stern and strict. He had a continuous facial ex pression that seemed to convey that he was al ways upset about something. We met three eve nings, every week, in the pursuit of earning the Swimming Merit Badge. In mid-July, the first class of that summer’s Swimming Merit Badge classes had completed. There were about 25 scouts in the class. I was the only scout who failed the course. But, there was good news, another class was going to begin the next week. My biggest challenge was swimming upstream. You see, we would be required to swim quite a dis tance downstream, then turn around, and swim upstream to return to the large riverside dock. It was during the swim upstream that I fell woefully

STAYING SAFE
STAY INSIDE Your walkways should be kept clear in case you need to leave the house. Unless an emer gency happens to arise, do your best to stay indoors. Your main concern before a winter storm should be preparation. The American Red Cross recommends keeping the follow ing items on hand to stay prepared:
Brutal winters can be tough on anyone. As a senior, it is important to take extra precau tions when dealing with icy walkways and freezing weather. Take your time and keep safe this winter. Winter weather brings many challenges for senior citizens, so it’s important to take your time and keep safe during this poten tially hazardous time. While you may not be able to stop the bitter cold from biting this winter, there are many simple steps you can take to ensure a happy, healthy winter sea son, KEEP WALKWAYS CLEAR Applying salt to your walkways before you’re expecting winter weather can be a big
• 7-day supply of medicine. Be sure you have at least a week’s worth of prescription medi cine on hand. This is to ensure you will have enough medicine to wait out a long storm. • Warm clothes and extra blankets. In case of an excessive power outage, have plenty of warm clothes available to keep warm if your heater becomes inoperable. • Battery operated radio. A battery-operated radio will keep you informed of any additional incoming weather during a power outage. COMMUNITY SUPPORT Be sure to address any concerns you have with your family and neighbors and always keep those around you updated during a winter storm. If you feel uncomfortable about an upcoming weather situation, a good support system can ease your mind and even assist you with your needs to weather the storm.
help when it comes to keeping your path clear. Be sure to tread slowly even if you have applied salt. While most ice will have melted, there still may be a few slick spots that will not be easily visible. If you are unable to apply the salt yourself, get in touch with a local snow removal company. You can likely sign a contract with these companies to have your property cleared through out the entire season. lf you live in an area with constant snowfall, a professional contract may be your best bet.

Taxpayers can find their routing and account numbers on their online banking page, banking statements or a personal check. • It provides options. Taxpayers can split a refund into several financial ac counts. These include checking, savings, health savings and certain retire ment accounts. They should use IRS FORM 8888. LIABILITY FOR ALCOHOL SERVED IN YOUR HOME? By John Bazzurro

A lot of my clients ask me whether or not they can be responsible for serving alcohol to their guests. The short answer in the State of New Jersey is "yes." New Jersey has a "social host" liability statute (N.J.S.A. 2A: 15-5.6) which allows people to sue for property damage or personal injury caused by an intoxicated individual who was served alcohol at your home. Accordingly, we all must be aware of this law, its parameters and when to stop serving alcohol to our friends, relatives and guests. Pursuant to the above referenced statute, a "social host" will be responsible for injuries or property damage caused by an intoxicated person's operation of a vehicle after the intoxicated person was served alcohol by the "social host." However, a "social host" will only be responsible for that intoxicated person's actions if it can be proven that the "social host" served alcohol to that intoxicated person at a time when that person was "visibly intoxicated." Thus, if, at one of your parties, you serve alcohol or allow the consumption of alcohol by a person who is "visibly intoxicated," you will be responsible for any injuries and/or property damage caused by that intoxicated person resulting from their operation of a motor vehicle. Accordingly, it is important to try to more readily define "visible intoxication." Unfortunately, the term "visible intoxication" is somewhat subjective in nature and may differ from person to person. However, some signs of visible intoxication that may be offered as proof at the time of a lawsuit will include, but are not limited to, the slurring of speech, staggering, loud boisterous behavior, bloodshot eyes, inappropriate behavior, strong odor of alcohol, etc. Therefore, it is suggested that, in the event one of your guests begin exhibiting one or all of these signs at your home, you immediately stop serving them alcohol. Further, to protect yourself from liability and for the safety of the public in general, it is also recommended that any such individuals exhibiting these signs not be allowed to drive. It should be pointed out that, although "visible intoxication" is rather subjective, the statute provides some guidance. If it is determined that an individual's blood alcohol content was less than .10% at the time you served them their last alcoholic beverage, you cannot be responsible for their behavior. Further, the statute indicates that if an individual's blood alcohol content was between .10% and .15%, there is a presumption that the "social host" did serve that person at a time that they were visibly intoxicated. However, this presumption may be overcome by the "social host" by competent evidence (i.e.- witnesses, etc.). Please note, however, that the analysis set forth above is with respect to the service of alcohol to adults (individuals over the age of 21 years old) and does not apply to the service of alcohol to minors. The service of alcohol to minors should never be undertaken in a social setting due to the fact that it could give rise to criminal liability as well as civil liability for instances where that minor may injure someone else regardless of whether or not the use of a motor vehicle is involved. The bottom line is that we all must pay attention to our guests when we are serving alcohol at a social event to ensure that alcohol is not provided to those who may fit one of the above referenced criteria.
