This is Millie. I have to share her sad story with a very happy end ing. Millie was found tied to a pole in Sanford, Florida at a boating dock. My boyfriend (from Millstone Township) was in Florida visiting his brother, nephew, sister-in-law and grandfather. They all passed this little 17-pound Jack Russell, before taking their boat out for the day. A couple of hours later they returned from boating, and she was still there tied to the pole as well as a woman feeding her. My boyfriend asked the woman, “Is that your dog?” She replied, “No, she has been here for a week and I have been feeding her.” Their hearts broke as they approached the dog, her skin was raw from the rope rubbing on her neck, she had fleas, looked extremely anxious and had no collar. They took her to a local veterinary clinic, she didn’t have a chip, they gave her a flea bath, her age is about 8 years old, and the veterinarian told them she was a healthy dog. Needless to say, my boyfriend took her to his brother’s home, and everyone voted on the name, Millie. We wish Millie could talk and tell us about her journey. Millie made her first flight ever to NJ and is fitting in nicely with her older beagle sister, Bella. What a story! We all love and adore Millie.
