Foxy was a most sensitive and intelligent Shetland Sheepdog. She came into my life in Jan uary of Year 2000. Foxy was a Rescue Sheltie. She had been found walking along a road in Morris County. My sister Patti and I adopted Foxy. We had no idea how old she was. We had no idea of her history. Her fos ter home parents did tell us that she was emaciated when she was found. They told us that it was a miracle that Foxy lived. I forget Foxy’s name when

Spice Recovery Spices can do a lot more than add pizzazz to your cooking. They offer many health benefits and help in healing. By Mia Ingui Cinnamon Cinnamon is actually one of the most powerful healing spices, and has become most famous for its ability to improve blood sugar control in people with diabetes. As little as 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon a day could cut triglycerides and total cholesterol levels by 12 to 30 percent. Cinnamon can even help prevent blood clots, making it especially heart smart. Cinnamon has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It's been shown to conquer E. coli and other types Have a toothache? Put a couple of whole cloves in your mouth. Let them soften a bit, then bite on them gently with good molars to release their oil. Then move them next to the painful tooth and keep them there for up to half an hour. Clove oil has a numbing effect in addition to bacteria-fighting powers. Coriander The herb can be helpful for some people with irritable bowel syndrome, as it calms intestinal spasms that can lead to diarrhea. Preliminary studies in animals support another traditional use for coriander—as an anti-anxiety herb. Its essential oil appears to fight bacteria, including E. coli and salmonella. It's also being studied for its potential cholesterol-reducing benefits and has been shown to lower cholesterol in animals. we had adopted her. My dad named her Foxy, because she looked so very much like a little fox. I was amazed at just how very intelligent Foxy was. She quickly adopted to life in the old Mabey Homestead. And, she got along so well with our two orange-striped cats, Felix and Oscar. One of Foxy’s favorite things to do was to run around in Earl’s Meadow, which was a big open field along Mabey Lane that was a little more than an acre in size. My grandfather, Watson Mabey, named the back field Earl’s Meadow in honor of his brother Earl who was killed in action in World War I. At the time, there were still some woods to the east of Earl’s Meadow. Foxy and I would walk the forest path. Foxy was a disciplined dog and would always come to me when I called her, so I felt assured to let her walk the wooded path, without a lead. There was a stream that ran through the forest, along the path we would walk. Foxy loved to walk up to the banks of this babbling brook and splash her paws in the water. This was especially the case, when summertime came. The splashing water was a cool relief from the hot sun’s golden rays. Foxy went to Rainbow Bridge in March of 2015. I cried my eyes out when she passed away. She was an incredibly loyal dog, with a very sensitive and loving heart. If I may take the liberty of sharing these words with you, my friends, it would be this. If you are looking for a dog, to bring joy into your life, please do consider adopting a rescue dog. Yes, it may be an older dog. And, it may not be the exact breed you are looking for. But please know that God will bless you all so very much for bringing love, shelter and food to a forgotten rescue dog. It may well be one of the most rewarding things you’ve ever done, in your entire life! Richard Mabey Jr. is a freelance writer. He has recently had two books pub lished.
