Consider Your Needs The decision between installing an accessible bathtub or an accessible shower will depend upon the person’s spe cific preferences and needs. For instance, if a person loves to soak in the bathtub but has mobility issues, an accessible bathtub with all its different features may be more beneficial. A person who requires a walker or wheelchair to get around may very well appreciate an accessible shower much more than a bathtub. Each person must consult with their doctor, health care pro vider, or occupational therapist to decide which option is more suitable for their needs. It is important, also, that the person checks to ensure that the bathtub or shower they choose meets all safety requirements and accessibility stan dards. How Can We Make Your Life Easier? Whether from injury or aging, getting in and out of a bathtub can be challenging. Instead of spending thousands of dollars on a bathroom renovation, you can easily convert your tub into a walk-in shower with the TubcuT® Company. Our accessible bathtub and shower experts can assist you with all of your bathing accessibility needs. With every Tub Cut install, we provide the safest and most convenient ways for people to take a bath, even when they struggle with a disability or mobility impairment. Contact us today for all of your accessible bathtub and shower needs.
Everything you need to know: Accessible Bathtubs vs Accessible Showers People with mobility issues must have an accessible bathtub or shower to use at their homes. Accessible bathtubs and showers are each designed to accommodate people who have mobility impairments or other disabilities but there are differences between the two. In this article, you will learn about the features of accessible bathtubs and accessible showers and the differences between the two. Major Differences Keep in mind that handicap-accessible tubs and showers are each designed to be as accommodating as possible for peo ple who suffer from disabilities or mobility impairments. They do, however, have different features and benefits that may be suitable for a variety of different preferences and needs. Accessible bathtubs are created to have features such as grab bars, lower thresholds, and nonslip surfaces to make getting into and out of them much easier for people with mo bility issues. They are also much safer than regular bathtubs and some even have built-in seats as well as adjustable jets to provide therapeutic benefits for people who need them. On the other hand, accessible showers normally also have a lower threshold entry and exit, non-slip services, and guard rails. They are created to make the showering experience for people with mobility issues much easier and even people with mobility aids, such as walkers or wheelchairs, can access these types of showers much easier than a bathtub. Some of these showers even come with seats or built-in benches for added convenience.

THE PLIGHT OF THE JERSEY MOSQUITO! By, Pam Teel
wsiworld. (609) 286 b.desai@ #FaceBook Ad #Get More Lea Studies have shown that mosquitoes do prefer to dine on certain blood types more than others. If you are O+, look out! The Asian tiger mosqui to loves to make a cocktail out of your blood. AB type blood seems to attract the marsh mosquito. You may ask, but how do they know the difference in blood? Around 80 percent of people produce a secretion that signals what blood type they are. Mosquitoes can also sense carbon dioxide from a significant distance. The more you exhale, the more attractive you become. Larger people ex hale more, so they’re more likely to receive bug bites. Since you exhale carbon dioxide through your nose and mouth, mosquitoes are especially attracted to your head. They can see humans from a distance of 16 to 49 feet. Female mosquitoes are Your Tru BrianD For Digit #Local SEO #Google Ads We wait in anticipation for our Jersey sum mer to begin. New Jersey, known for its beautiful beaches, abundance of pork roll, jersey tomatoes, tasty sweet corn, Springsteen, and oh yes, on a much lesser degree, our Jersey Mosquito! Hard to believe these little bloodsuckers can make your summer a living hell. You might wonder why it’s always you getting all bitten up and not your spouse or your kid, or your best friend. A lot of that has to do with what you eat, drink, wear, bacteria on your skin, and even, how you breath. Mosquito bites come solely from the female of the species. They rely on the protein in human blood and other mammals for egg pro duction. Male mosquitoes survive on nectar for nourishment. Here are some reasons mosquitoes dine on some people more than others:
non- pregnant women. For some reason or other, mosquitoes are also drawn to those who drink beer. If that wasn’t bad enough, what you eat can also make you tastier for mosquitoes. Salty, sweety, spicy, or potassium rich foods, such as bananas, are believed to attract more mosquitoes. Mosquitoes use their eyes to target victims. Research shows that mosquitoes gravitate more toward green and black surfaces than toward white or grey surfaces. If you tend to get bug bites, it may be because mosquitoes have an easy time seeing you. Mosquito bites are more than just annoying. Mosquitoes are vectors, which are living organisms that can transmit diseases, such as Zika virus and malaria. Mosquitoes lay eggs in standing water. Tips to cut the mosquito population in your yard: • Remove items that collect rainwater that you don’t need, like old tires. • Empty items that catch rainwater after a storm. • Change the water in fountains and bird baths at least once a week. • Clean the gutters on the roof to keep water flowing. also attracted to heat and may choose to fly toward people even when there are other sources of heat available. You may notice that you get bites if you exercise outside, or venture out on hot days. They do a great job sniffing out human sweat. They're attracted to lactic acid, ammonia, and other com pounds emitted in it. Might be a good idea to head inside after a vigorous outdoor activity. Mosquitoes also prefer certain skin bacteria. Your skin is naturally teeming with microscopic life. These bacteria create a distinct fragrance when mixed with sweat. The types and amount of bacteria on a person’s skin can play a role in how many mosquito bites they get. Mosquitoes may be especially drawn to ankles and feet because these areas are especially ripe for bacterial growth. They prefer people with significantly more carboxylic acids on their skin. One study found that these fatty acids were highly concentrated on the skin of those who were most attractive to mosquitoes. Pregnancy also attracts some mosquito species. One study found that mosquitoes tend to gravitate around pregnant women more so that non- pregnant ones. This may happen for a couple of reasons. One reason being, people in late pregnancy exhaled a 21 percent greater volume of breath than

In its heyday, Point Breeze, Joseph Bonaparte's estate, was the center of social life in Bordentown.
JOSEPH BONAPARTE, THE FORMER KING OF SPAIN, AND HIS BORDENTOWN HOME NOW OPEN FOR VISITORS By, Surabhi Ashok Joseph Bonaparte’s Bordentown home is now open to public visitation as a historical landscape.
The main mansion at Point Breeze no longer stands due to a fire that occurred in 1820 while Bonapar te was returning from a trip to New York. Accord ing to various accounts, he had come back to see his neighbors rushing into the burning house to recover many of his possessions, like his prized paintings and crowned jewels, and presenting it to him. His second reconstructed mansion was razed in 1850 after Henry Beckett bought the property. In October of 2020, the New Jersey State Depart ment of Environmental Protection’s Green Acres Pro gram, Bordentown, and the Delaware & Raritan Gre enway Land Trust together bought Point Breeze from the Society of the Divine World, a Catholic mission ary organization, in order to turn the property into a public park called Delaware and Raritan Canal Park. The hopes are to bring interest from all over the world to Bordentown and ensure that their unique history is protected. Linda Mead, the president of Delaware & Raritan Greenway Land, hopes to open the estate to the pub lic by the fall and hopes that people will see the deep stories entrenched right in theirvery own backyards. Source: https://njmonthly.com/articles/news/for mer-bonaparte-estate-opening-to-public-after-al most-two-centuries/ https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/31/nyregion/bona parte-point-breeze-bordentown.html
Joseph Bonaparte was the King of Naples and Spain, and the brother of Napoleon. After the Battle of Wa terloo in 1815, he fled across the ocean to New Jersey, where he settled for twenty years. Bonaparte built Point Breeze, his estate, to overlook both Crosswicks Creek and the Delaware River. He made sure to enhance the scenery by designing var ious carriage paths, stone bridges, sculpture gardens, and underground tunnels for quick escape, and by planting trees and forestry to make up a beautiful 60 acre park. At the center was a three-story 38,000 square foot mansion, with an extravagant wine cellar, art collec tion, and library. The building even became a meeting ground for many notable personas of the time, in cluding Henry Clay, the Marquis de Lafayette, Daniel Webster, and John Quincy Adams. After Bonaparte left New Jersey, the estate was passed along through many owners. The one struc ture that has persevered through the years is the gar dener’s house, which is being turned into a museum dedicated to preserving the history of the area. The museum showcases many of Bonaparte’s old memo rabilia, a lot of which were collected privately by law yer Peter Tucci, some period-specific furniture, and more.

economics classes whenever they’re offered. And don’t be afraid to venture into new and unfamiliar subject matter. Getting out of your comfort zone can help expand your educational horizons.
2013 met readiness benchmarks in all four core subjects, according to annual reports by the corporation. Those four subjects are English, math, science and reading. That 25 percent mark was down from 2012’s 31 percent measurement. As a student or parent of a student, you should be alarmed by these numbers. You also should choose to do something about it. If you’re in your third year of high school, you should have plenty of the core subjects in class by now. One of the first steps to preparing for the ACT test is to know if you have a shortcoming in one of the subjects. Extra tutoring and problem solving exercises can go a long way in readying you for test time. Senior Year Senior year is not all about visiting campuses and having a summer job. Students should be concerned with partaking in career related internships that could get their foot in the door with a target company. Before senior year starts, look at past ACT or SAT scores to find where you could improve. Taking courses in theses areas can help bolster your knowledge and prepare you for college classes.
Now more than ever before, it is important to start preparing from your freshman year forward. The proof is out there. It’s possible for high school students to concurrently graduate with their diploma and an associate degree. What student wouldn’t want a two-year head start on her college career? Even high school may not be soon enough to start making your college plans. Many schools begin preparing their eighth-graders for high school by building coursework plans and schedules. If you’re the parent of an eighth-grader, check in with your school’s principal to see what is offered in terms of early preparation. Freshman/Sophomore Years It’s never too early to become involved in community activities. Volunteering at your local food pantry or helping non-profit organizations plan for an upcoming event make great additions to your resume. They also open your eyes to new responsibilities and help you make new connections. In terms of coursework, opt for elective classes that match your interests. KNEE PAIN Dr. Scott Paris
QUESTION: What’s the best way to treat knee arthritis? Consider a non-surgical treatment that really works!
O s teoarthritis of the knee is the #1 leading cause of disability in the U.S. Over 27 million people suffer with knee arthritis and that number continues to grow. With knee arthritis, the cartilage breaks down and wears away, leaving the bones to rub together causing pain swelling stiffness and limited range of motion. As the cartilage breaks down, the knee loses its lubricating fluid. We found that by replacing this lubricating fluid with a natural substance called Hyaluronate, the lubrication is restored and many patients experience amazing pain relief.
DOES IT HURT? Many of our patients report that they feel little to no pain at all! We do everything possible to minimize any pain from the procedure, from pain relieving spray and a local anesthetic, to precision guidance that ensures we are always in the right spot. WILL MY INSURANCE COVER HYALURONATE? This procedure is covered by most major insurance companies including Medicare. Our insurance department pre-verifies every patient. WHO WILL BE PERFORMING THE HYALURONATE PROCEDURE? Dr. Scot Paris is the medical physician who performs the Hyaluronate injection. Dr. Paris is trained as a general surgeon and has extensive experience with a variety of surgical procedures. With his conservative approach, he has excelled in the non-surgical treatment of knee pain with the use of fluoroscopy guided Hyaluronate injections. SO HOW DO I KNOW IF YOUR KNEE PAIN TREATMENT PROGRAM WILL HELP ME? If you are tired of suffering with painful arthritis of the knee, and you want to see if the latest advances in non-surgical treatment can help, all you have to do is call 732-683-1800 to set up a risk free consultation. During the consultation
WHAT IS HYALURONATE AND HOW DOES IT WORK? Hyaluronate is a natural lubricating fluid that acts as a lubricant and shock absorber inside the knee joint. The substance in Hyaluronate is normally found in high levels in healthy joints. Replacing the hyularonic acid with Hyaluronate lubricates the joint and reduces pain. Hyaluronate has been administered over 40 million times and has been proven to provide long-lasting relief of knee pain from osteoarthritis. WHAT IF YOU ALREADY TRIED KNEE INJECTIONS? If you have had injections like this in the past and experienced poor results, there is still hope! Many doctors in this area offer similar injections, but very few use precision fluoroscopy guidance. Fluoroscopy guidance ensures that the pain relieving Hyaluronate reaches the knee capsule where it bonds with the joint fluid to create a lubricating and cushioning layer. Without fluoroscopy, it is estimated that doctors “miss” the capsule over 30% of the time resulting in poor results. We want each and every one of our patients to have the greatest chance of success, so every injection is done with precision fluoroscopy guidance to ensure that the Hyaluronate gets into the capsule 100% of the time. Because of this, patients who previously felt little to no relief with non-flouroscopy guided injection are now getting excellent results. The other “big difference” in our results is the multitude of other supportive care options that we have available to enhance the effectiveness of the Hyaluronate procedure. These options include state of the art medical laser treatment, physical therapy, manipulation, corrective osteoarthritis bracing (takes pressure off the damaged section of the knee), and natural anti-inflammatory products. The combination of these treatments offers you what we feel is the most comprehensive non-surgical knee treatment program available.
all of your questions will be answered in a warm and friendly environment. Knee replacement surgery is a very extreme measure to take without considering all of your other options first. Once it’s done there is no turning back. For that reason we encourage you to schedule an appointment to see if you are a candidate for Hyaluronate treatment.
We are proud to offer our patients a comprehensive knee pain treatment program that includes the best non surgical methods to relieve pain all under one roof. We look forward to having the opportunity to help you feel better. Take the first step in ending your knee pain and call to schedule an appointment today!
Dr. Scott Paris using precision fluoroscopy guidance to ensure the best results possible.

QUESTION: What is Optomap retinal imaging?
ANSWER:
The optomap ultra-widefield retinal image is a unique technology that captures more than 80% of your retina in one panoramic image while traditional imaging methods typically only show 15% of your retina at one time. Your retina (located in the back of your eye) is the only place in the body where blood vessels can be seen directly. This means that in addition to eye conditions, signs of other diseases (for example, stroke, heart disease, hypertension and diabetes) can also be seen in the retina. Early detection of life-threatening diseases like cancer, stroke, and cardiovascular disease. It also facilitates early protection from vision impairment or blindness. Early signs of these conditions can show on your retina long before you notice any changes to your vision or feel pain. While eye exams include a look at the front of the eye to evaluate health and prescription changes, a thorough screening of the
free. It is suitable for every age, even children. The capture takes less than a second. Images are available immediately and you can see your own retina and exactly what your eye care practitioner sees in a 3D animation. Most importantly, early detection means successful treatments can be administered and reduces the risk to your sight and health.

Happiness Is seeing the World Through a Child’s Eyes Y ou do not have to look very far to learn how to be happy. Happiness is one of the most valuable lessons parents can teach their kids. Do your kids see you as a happy person? When we look at children we see that they are the happiest when they are doing and acting on what they love. Children are always happy because they
find joy in little things. They get excited when they see a friend, jump over a puddle or get to go to the park. They do not over analyze situations and do not assume the worst in people or situations. They keep things simple. One way to remind yourself and your kids to stay happy is by keeping a journal. Use the journal to write down the many happy moments that you enjoy in your life. Make it a priority on a regular basis, do something small that makes you happy like reading one chapter of a book you like, exer cising or spending time with friends. Simple acts that you do everyday show your children that you have faith and that everyone is responsible and has a choice for their own happiness or not. If your child sees you complaining about a bad part of your
If you are looking for happiness notice who around you seems to be happy all day? That’s right–kids! Laughter is a natural thing with kids. If you spend some time playing with them, it is contagious!
While there are moments that kids get upset, you find that you can learn a thing or two from them about forgetting their anger and moving on. The saying “kids make us face ourselves” lives true in the art of hap piness. It is also possible that you start to remember a time when you used to be a kid and how life seemed so easy and with out responsibilities and worries. Living daily in each moment is a wonderful way to lead by example for your children. Explaining to your kids to enjoy what they are doing at the very moment they are doing it is the key to a happy lifestyle.
day tell them also about a good part of your day. Make it a daily ritual to re connect with your inner child. Spend time with your kids and pretend you are five again! Look at the world through the eyes of a child and gain some joyful and trusting qualities and happiness will be with you always as well as with your children. n
Teaching our kids not to hold grudges and to get rid of negative emotions is a great tool for success in life. Talk to your kids often about what makes them happy or unhappy. Help them achieve the goals they set forth for themselves and help them conquer the discomforts in their life. Teaching your kids that every problem has a solution is a gift you can give them that will make them happy and healthy adults.

GARDENING MISTAKES YOU MAKE EVERY AUTUMN For those of us who love our home grown veg etables, have a green thumb, and enjoy rolling up their sleeves and playing in the dirt, fall is most likely the time of year when your garden begins to get out of hand. After months of TLC, you get a bit lazy and let things go to seed and weeds. Don’t Prune Your Bushes in the Fall Cutting back branches in the fall causes your plant to put its energy into re-growing just when it should be conserving resources by going dor mant for winter. This may weaken the plant to the point where it won’t make it through the cold weather. Late winter or early spring is better when the plants are already dormant. same results as getting them in the ground in the fall. You Forget To Divide Your Perennials
Most perennials need to be divided in the fall to invigorate the plant and keep them blooming. Additionally, when you divide the parent, you can plant the babies in other areas of the garden or give them to friends. Not all perennials need splitting and some of them should never be di vided. You Stop Planting Too Early Don’t forget about the fall crops like spinach, lettuce, kale, and radishes to extend your grow ing season. They have short growing season so they’ll be edible before a heavy frost hits. You Don’t Plant a Cover Crop Cover crops like clover and buckwheat can be intentionally planted to restore nutrients to the soil and suppress weed growth. Plan to get them in the ground about four weeks before the first frost to give them a chance to mature.
What many don’t realize is a little time in the fall will save a lot of time in early spring. You will have a happier, healthier garden for your au tumn effort. Don’t Stop Weeding The winter cold will not kill the weeds or their seeds, in fact weeds often set their seeds in the fall months. Yank those guys now before they come back with their little family in the spring. Do Cut Back Perennial Grasses Cut back dead foliage on your perennials in the fall because most of them grow from the ground up. It is easier to do it now. In the early spring, new growth gets in the way.
Don’t Leave Leftovers to Decay Some people leave rotting plants and inedible vegetables in place, thinking they will just reseed next year. This may cause diseases to ride out the winter in your garden as well as safe-haven and meals for diseases and insects that would love to visit your garden again next year. You Don’t Plant Your Spring Bulbs Those bold and beautiful spring bulbs need a long period of cold weather to initiate the pro cess that causes them to bloom and time to de velop roots. Planting in spring does not give the

THE STORY OF ONG’S HAT, NEW JERSEY By, Lauren Kowlacki
Timmy’s Story: A SENSORY FRIENDLY BIRTHDAY By, Pam Teel Young Author Tim Rohrer, who has overcome many obstacles in his life due to his autism, is set to release his second children’s book. The book is a sequel to his first book, Timmy’s Story: A Story About Autism and Friendship . His first book, focuses on inclusion, and is based on his own past life experiences. His second book, Timmy’s Story: A Sensory Friendly Birthday, also is a reflection of his past, and teaches one about autism through the eyes of someone who lived it. For those with autism, sensory sensitivities may make birthday parties difficult to enjoy. Tim’s second book tells a true story, with that in mind, about how his teacher and his classmates made his birthday party one that he could enjoy. Tim’s brother Daniel, who is a senior at Allentown High School, is doing his senior practicum helping behind the scenes of “Tips4Inclusion.” He did the book editing for his brother. Tim has not only become an author but a speaker, self-advocate, and educator of disabilities. He has been asked to speak at schools, conferences, and has also received a commendation from the NJ State Senate and Assemblymen. He is also a managing partner of a teen founded nonprof it organization called 5Help Foundation. To learn more about Tim and the amazing resources he created, check out his website at: https://tips4inclusion.wixsite.com/disabilityinclusion. Tim’s new book is now available to purchase on Amazon. New Jersey has a reputation for being a quirky and unusual place, and there are many bizarre stories that have come out of the state over the years. However, one of the most unusual and intriguing stories involves a small town called Ong's Hat, located in the southern part of the state. The story of Ong's Hat begins in the early 1980s, when a group of scientists and philosophers came together to form the "Institute for Chaos Studies and the Physics of the Impossible." The group was led by a man named Wali Fard, who claimed to be a descendant of a long line of Sufi mystics. According to Fard, the institute was dedicated to studying the nature of reality and exploring the possibilities of time travel and alternate universes. The group was headquartered in a small cabin in the woods near Ong's Hat, and they attracted a small but dedicated following of like-minded individuals. How ever, the group's activities were shrouded in secrecy, and they kept to themselves for the most part. Then, in the mid-1980s, a strange rumor began to cir culate about the institute. According to the rumor, the group had discovered a way to travel to parallel univers es, and they had actually done so themselves. The story Ong's Hat, c. early 1970s
was that the group had abandoned their cabin and dis appeared into a parallel universe, leaving behind only a few scattered clues and pieces of equipment. The rumor quickly spread, and it wasn't long before people from all over the world began to visit Ong's Hat in search of clues to the mysterious disappearance of the institute. Some claimed to have seen strange lights and heard unusual noises in the woods, while others re ported seeing strange symbols and messages scrawled on trees and rocks. To this day, the truth behind the story of Ong's Hat remains shrouded in mystery. Some believe that the entire story was a hoax, perpetrated by the members of the institute as a way to promote their philosophical ideas. Others believe that the group really did discover a way to travel to parallel universes, and that they sim ply vanished into one of those alternate realities. Whatever the truth may be, the story of Ong's Hat remains one of the most bizarre and intriguing tales to come out of New Jersey. It serves as a reminder that, no matter how much we think we know about the world around us, there is always the potential for the unex pected and the unexplainable.
