Release Toxins in your skin can also be achieved with these Yoga poses: • Downward Facing Dog

• Crow Pose • Plow Pose • Childs Pose • Handstand Pose • Bridge Post

Releasing toxins is an important part of clearing out your mind, body and skin. Toxins in your body develop from what you eat, how much—or little—you sleep and how much you embody your stress. Yoga releases toxins because it improves digestion and increases oxygenation. When your digestive system is on track and your skin is getting more oxygen, the number of free radicals you take in is limited, and thus your skin is cleansed.

Thomas A. Leach, M.D. Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery Recognized by Castle Connolly Medical, Ltd. “Top Doc for the New York Metro Area” since 2005 CERTIFIED COOLSCULPTING TREATMENT CENTER Serving Princeton & its surrounding communities since 1992 QUESTION: I have begun to develop a double chin – is there an easy fix? ANSWER: Most of the treatments for “double chin” involve surgery, however, it is typically an office procedure with minimal downtime. We frequently see patients who have accumulated fat beneath their chin and along the jaw line as they age. There are also younger patients who have always had fullness to their neck that they are not comfortable with. The restoration of a thin youthful contour to one’s neck can have a positive impact on a patient’s entire appearance. There are many ways to decrease the excess neck fat (injection of fat dissolving chemicals, CoolSculpting, liposuction, and direct excision) but our best result requires the skin to tighten to follow the new contour. PrecisionTx is a laser system that allows us to deliver laser energy under the skin to treat both the fat and the skin. Through three tiny incisions we are able to melt fat under the chin and neck, define the jawline, and reduce sagging skin. The laser treatment is followed by liposuction done with thin cannulas through those same small incisions. This is a one-time treatment that is done in the office, takes about two hours, and results in minimal downtime. 932 State Rd • Princeton, NJ 08540 • (609) 921-7161 • www.princetonsurgery.com Follow us on: When you practice yoga, your blood flows to the nerves in your face, boosting circulation. Dendy Engelman, M.D., Direc- tor of Dermatologic Surgery and Laser Medicine at Metropolitan Hospital and dermatologist at Manhattan Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery, explains why blood flow is so important in toning skin. “Yoga causes vasodilation (enlargement of the blood vessels), which leads to increased blood flow to the skin, providing it with more oxygen and nutrients, lending itself to a cutaneous flushing or ‘glow'”. In times of shifting norms and fast-paced lifestyles, it’s more important than ever before to take care of yourself, your body and your skin. Take some time to find out what works for you and your skin and realize that all good habits take time and perseverance.
