East Windsor Township Awarded New Jersey Department of Transportation Bikeway Program $190,000 Grant for Extension of the Township Pathway System

East Windsor was one of only nine municipalities statewide to receive the highly competitive program grant award. The funds will be used toward construct- ing an off-street bikeway in the south-central part of the Town- ship, connecting the existing Pulte Pathway, across Airport

Road and providing safe connections for pedestrians and bicyclists to the East Windsor Police Athletic League complex and the East Windsor School District Hightstown High School. The funded project would in- clude all necessary safety, directional and trail information signage. The New Jersey Department of Transportation Bikeway Grant Program pro- vides funds to counties and municipalities to promote bicycling as an al- ternate mode of transportation for the benefit of cyclists and pedestrians and advance local bike path projects.

A T T E N T I O N E A S T W I N D S O R R E S I D E N T S Join us on April 23, 2022 in EAST WINDSOR and volunteer to help remove trash, litter, and debris from local rivers and streams at our 16th Annual Stream Cleanup. Over the past decade, these efforts have helped remove more than 122,000 pounds of garbage with the help of 6,300 enthusiastic volunteers. Our cleanup events are a great way to get outside, improve the scenic beauty of our region and positively impact our wildlife habitat. Take home a Watershed Stream Cleanup t-shirt as a memento!

We appreciate the continued support of our generous sponsors who make our cleanups possible. Bloomberg, Colgate Palmolive, Lilly, American Riv- ers, and New Jersey Clean Communities have provided volunteers and re- sources. Pre-registration is required! Rain or shine event. Please bring your own gloves and (reusable!) water bottle. Long pants and closed-toed shoes are suggested for woodier areas. This is an in-person program. Masks and social distancing are optional. A parent or legal guardian is required to attend with all children. To attend this event, you must agree to the terms of the waiver included during registration. A copy of this waiver will be emailed to participants. "Virtual" stream cleanups are also available! Rather than join the group at a pre-determined site, you may choose to pick up trash wherever you like. Just snap a few pics and let us know where you are cleaning up with our online form to share your cleanup spot on the Watershed community map. Learn more here: thewatershed.org/stream-cleanups
